Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer famous for his distinctive mix of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's given the name of Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta she was born in Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical experience began at the church where she sang and played piano. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The first track to showcase her vocals was Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it has been re-mixed and is now component of her set. Additionally, she was a part of The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. She was named the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the director of the choral group for this theatrical production. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing at President Barack Obama's 2008 inauguration.
