Winona Ryder Professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her the city she grew up in after her birthplace. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder is Jewish. Ryder believes that her father is from an ethnically Jewish background. The actress is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. At the age of seven, Ryder was just seven years old, her family relocated in Mendocino County California. They lived in a place without electricity. Ryder began to be a passionate reading book because there was no TV. Ryder aged 12 took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre for acting classes in the year 1983. When she was 15, Ryder had a chance to play in Lucas the first of her major film. Ryder experienced bullying at high school. Ryder hoped her career as an actress would bring about change. It did not work out. However, she continued to pursue her goals. Ryder made her breakthrough with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in 1988. Ryder played successful roles for several films. Two Academy Awards were nominated, one for The Age of Innocence (1996).
