Heidi Klum was conceived in Bergisch Gladbach in Germany on June 1, 1973. Her mother Erna had a career as a hairdresser. Gunther was her father, and a senior executive at a cosmetics manufacturer. Heidi's father had earlier been director of production at the perfume firm 4711. Heidi was raised within Bergisch Gladbach which is a town of 100,000 just six miles away from Cologne. German-American former fashion model, TV host, now a businesswoman and designer.
